Year 5 visited the Great North Hancock Museum, in Newcastle, and discovered exhibitions about Earth and Space, the Ancient Egyptians and Extinction. We became stargazers at the planetarium, and re-lived the early days of space exploration.
We discovered the launch of the first artificial satellite to the magnificent lunar landings, and the dangerous space flights that have enabled us to advance technology in the 21st Century.
We also travelled 120 million light years, to discover Earth’s special place in the Universe. We continued our journey, beyond the Milky Way, to search for other special planets, which might host extra-terrestrial life.
