Mrs Ruddell is visiting two schools in Shanghai to research teaching mathematics for mastery. The project has been run through a partnership between the NCETM, the DfE and Shanghai Normal University. The director of NCETM, Charlie Stripp and Clare Fowler Director of math education policy are also on the trip. We will update the website with photos from her trip.
Mrs Ruddell has become somewhat of a celebrity, making the Shanghai Daily newspaper and a TV news report in China.
Mrs Ruddell has also featured in the Hartlepool Mail, as the teaching staff from Shanghai visited North East schools including Cotsford Junior School.
The trip continued with a lesson in Wing Chun, a Chinese form of Kung Fu, and lessons in making Spring Rolls.
Mrs Ruddell has been treated to a showcase of the talents of the students at Shanghai the First Central Primary School of Jingan District, who displayed some wonderful singing and dancing, hopefully it is a partnership we can continue.
