At Cotsford Juniors, we aim to offer a rich and varied curriculum, with opportunities for pupils to engage with a range of sporting activities. We are part of the Easington School Sports Partnership, which enables us to participate in a whole host of festivals and competitions, alongside other local schools. We enrich our curriculum with clubs, coaching and family learning activities, as well as taking part in sporting leagues and friendly games, both within and beyond the school day.

KS2 Curriculum Overview for P.E.
Our curriculum covers the key elements of invasion games, striking and fielding games, dance, gymnastics and athletics. As well as this, the school recognises the inspiring role of less high profile sports, such as new age kurling and boccia. Our varied curriculum reflects our inclusive approach to sport, and enables all pupils to enjoy and achieve in P.E. Click here to see topics covered by each year group, during KS2.
Swimming is a statutory part of the national curriculum, just like Maths and English, and we believe that every child should have the chance to learn to swim at primary school. For this reason, our school is signed up to the ASA (Amateur Swimming Association)’s ‘School Swimming Charter’, which aims to improve school swimming and celebrate children’s swimming attainment levels and successes.
The school offers pupils the chance to participate in several physical education activities, in addition to our P.E. curriculum.
